Why should we utilize a shredding service instead of just a recycling program?
If security is important to your company, shredding should be as well. Recycling your information is a terrific idea but only after it is shredded. Recycling facilities offer NO security for your information. Your material is not only transported in unsecured vehicles, but delivered to a location with no security features. Your material is deposited in an area with public access, accessible to anyone!

What happens to our material after it is shredded?
All paper and paper products are recycled.

How do you charge for your services?
Bulk shredding is charged by the pound. No time charges. You are charged for the material that you have shredded. You are not charged time charges which could penalize you for slow equipment or workers. All material is weighed prior to the shredding process. We have a built in, calibrated, sealed scale on board the shredding vehicle. You are furnished with a print-out of the exact poundage immediately following the destruction process.

Once the material is taken out of our office, how do you ensure the security of our documents?
The shredder bay is entirely contained by full size, metal, mesh gates with sweeps at the bottoms. This prevents any material from exiting the vehicle if, for instance, it is a windy day. Also, we always encourage our customers to witness the shredding process, if they so desire. Your documents are 'dumped' into the shredder itself, it is not necessary for our personnel to sift through your material and 'feed' it into the shredder. Again, all material is shredded prior to leaving your location.

Why employ a shredding service instead of using/buying our own shredder?
Cost effectiveness. It will cost you more money to do the shredding in-house rather than have our service do it for you! For instance, you will save money in not only the cost of the shredder, maintenance and disposal, but large labor costs as well.

Why have our documents shredded on-site instead of having them taken away and shredded by an off site company?
Once your documents leave your location, you can never be totally sure what actually happens to them or who may see or have access to them. A lot can happen from the time documents leave your location till they reach their destination, often times in another city or state. With CSS on site destruction, you can be assured that your documents will be destroyed in a very timely and secure manner. If you wish, you may even witness the destruction process.

Do you strip shred the material?
Absolutely Not! Strip shredding is a very inefficient method of shredding documents. Material that is strip shredded can easily be reconstructed. Our equipment, with a special system of 42 rotating knives, randomly rips, tears and compacts the documents into very small pieces. This makes it virtually impossible for reconstruction!
